Instrument Flight: '91 Chevette DL by broettonavarro Instrument Flight: '91 Chevette DL by broettonavarro
1991 Chevrolet Chevette DL 1.6

The Chevette sold in Brazil is actually a rebadged Opel Kadett C. The name was changed to Chevette because when GM launched this car in Brazil, the country was ruled by a military dictatorship.
The brazilian Chevrolet Chevette debuted in the early 70's, and lived until the early 90's.

The model of this photo isn't in perfect conditions but, compared to most Chevettes found on the road, it is in pretty good shape.

Some say that period was awful, because of the censorship. Also, we had our share of "missing people" during the dictatorship. This issue is still debated nowadays.

Some others believe that the military government developed our country, thus making more people live in better conditions.

As I was born in the early 90's, and the dictatorship ended in '84, all I know comes from history books and conversation with older folks.
