Rallye Monte Carlo by broettonavarro Rallye Monte Carlo by broettonavarro
1967 Mini Cooper S, made by Del Prado.
1:43 scale.

One of the coolest rally cars of all, I must say.
I remember first seeing this car back in the late 90's, while playing Gran Turismo 2.
Me and my brother always called this car the "Mini Cooper Taxi", thanks to the little plaque on its roof.

License S-1 - Tahiti Circuit

Brings back memories for sure! Awesome miniature, I'd love to have one too.

One of the easiest among S licenses, mainly because you can drive on the grass and it's like an asphalt :)

This Mini Cooper reminds me of the Trial Mountain Endurance. It was one of the best cars you could choose for that race, thanks to the "HP limitation rule".

I actually miss those "HP limitation rules" for GT races...

That race also had a glitch, where a Vector M12 LM Race Car would appear every now and then. Even though the HP limit for that endurance was aprox. 250HP , the Vector (with more than 500HP) was choosen by the CPU sometimes.

I haven't tried it, I guess I should!
These rules were awesome, but what sucks a lot is the fact that, for example, if you had Classic Car Cup, you could use a brand new 90's car there!
And I remember that glitch. I also remember that I wanted to use Mazdaspeed RX-7 GT-C for that race, a bit tuned (racing tires, professional suspension, sports brakes, lightweight, adjustable gearbox, racing clutch etc. - everything that doesn't increase HP) - I got into that race twice in a row and two times I had that Vector among opponents! Third time I took [R] Peugeot 406 Sedan (fully tuned, ~290HP) and Vector wasn't there, finally. This race had limit up to 300PS/296HP, as far as I remember.

It always amazes me how well Mini has done, in the History of Rally!

The Mini Cooper defeated cars like the Porsche 911 back in the 1967 Monte-Carlo rally!

And the real thing is so tiny...!
It has to be a fun experience to drive a classic Mini Cooper!
