When something breaks down or need repair, it's a good chance to get to know your car better.
After being startled by the attempted theft of my car, some days ago, I learned a bit more about alarm systems, specially the one that's installed in my VW. The Gol's security system was reviewed, and I'm quite calm now. The car also got a new windshield.

So.

It's been months since I last upadted properly my "Cars I Drove" list.
During the past months, I got the chance to make some simple maneuvers on some cars. Nothing really special on those cars, apart that I bumped a side mirror of the Meriva, got some wheelspin on the 97' Fiat Palio, and gave some care to a Fiat Uno whose owner didn't wash the car for some couples of months.

Last weekend I went to the local Volkswagen dealership, to see the new VW Up!. The brazilian Up! is a bit longer than the european version. It carries 5 people instead of just 4, plus the gas tank is bigger (50L). I choose to drive the bare-bones basic version of said car, which is called "Take Up!". The 3-cylinder Up sounds nice, but I prefer the sound of my 1.6 Gol (which is equipped with exhaust parts from the 1.0 engine). The car doesn't feel like slow, but it doesn't feel sporty. At the end of the test-drive, I felt I needed to spend more time with the Up! to see what I really thought of the car. My girlfriend was with me during the test-drive, and she didn't like the Up!. According to her, the car doesn't look good, the interior feels small, the dashboard looks too cold, the ammount of plastic annoyed her, the engine was too noisy even though the car wasn't speeding at all... Ya, she didn't like the Up!.
Her opinion didn't surprise me much, as she's into muscle cars

I'm yet to get more details on the Peugeot 307 I drove. Don't know the trim level nor the engine it had. The ride was more comfortable than the one in my Gol, the engine is more silent and the acceleration response feels quicker and stronger compared to my VW. My girlfriend was with me during this time too. We both agreed that it was a good car, but the dashboard extends miles ahead, the winshield is too far from the seats, and neither I nor she could see much of the car's hood.
I also noted the the Pug's owner need to get a new clutch for his car. The pedal was too stiff.

Almost got the chance to drive a cousin's 1985 Volkswagen Fusca 1600 Série Especial... but ran out of time to do so :/
Hope I can get to drive a Beetle one day!

Wasn't heavy, and the dasboard had all the gauges needed. The Fiesta I drove is a car that I don't care much, to be honest.

Now, the Fiesta Mk.VII is one car I really like!

The 2012 one? XD You and me have different ways to describe generations of cars XD But i agree. From 2013, cars started to look... The heck horrible

Hmmmm lemme see if we're thinking the same way: the current Fiesta is a cool car, while the previous Fiesta isn't musch of special car IMO.

Just to remember, here in Brasil we have both the Mk.6 and Mk.7 Fiesta on the market. The mk.6 is yet to be retired in here ;)

That Fusca is quite rare... Volkswagen only made 2.800 units of the Série Especial =)
